Rebecca Pieper

Miss Rebecca has been teaching, directing, and performing in the Lehigh Valley for 22 years. A native of New York, she began her music career with piano lessons at the age of three and, by 17, she was performing at the NYSTS Young Artists Winners Recital at Carnegie Hall. Miss Rebecca double majored in vocal performance and music education at Westminster Choir College.

In addition to teaching in her private studio, Miss Rebecca is an Adjunct Professor of Voice in the Theatre Department at DeSales University and an accredited long-distance instructor for Berklee College of Music.  She is also a highly sought after music director for local high schools, theatres and universities.

Miss Rebecca holds many professional and educational certifications, including: Levels 1-3 of Contemporary Commercial Music with Shenandoah University CCM Institute, NeuroVocal Method Certification,  Musical methodologies of Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze and in the 4Mat Teaching System, Certification from the Westminster Choir College Summer Voice Institute, and Early Childhood Certification through the Musikgarten Program.

Miss Rebecca maintains an active performance career that crosses the bridge between musical theatre and opera throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Locally, she has directed, choreographed, music directed, accompanied, and ran camps at Chansonette, NCC, PA Playhouse, Civic Theatre, Nazareth Middle School and High School, Nazareth Center For The Arts, and many more. She loves being on both sides of the stage as a performer.

Miss Rebecca finds it extremely important to teach to the individual student. Lessons are structured around the student, not a publisher’s curriculum. She recognizes the importance of producing a musician for life, and she is passionate about training her students to have a healthy and functional voice.

Passionate about lifelong learning, networking, and community building, Miss Rebecca holds memberships with Lehigh Valley Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, Music Theatre Educators Alliance, National Association of Teachers of Singing (Lehigh Valley President, Member of New Jersey, Eastern Region President & National Level Executive Board Member) Pennsylvania Music Teachers National Association (Chapter President), and SpeakEasy Cooperative.

Alumni and Current Students of Ms. Rebecca's studio can be found on Broadway Stages, National Tours, Professional and Semi Professional Opera Houses and Theatres, Coffee Houses, and Concert Halls locally and across the country. In addition to numerous students being Freddy Award winners, they have also been finalists and winners in local, regional and national vocal competitions.

Outside the studio, Miss Rebecca is a mother of two not-so-little boys, Carson and Brandon and her doggies!   In addition to teaching, learning, and performing, she loves fitness, food, fashion, and her friends.

MalĀna Wilson

Studio Assistant

Malāna Wilson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and a Music Minor from Texas Tech University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude as a first-generation student in 2021. Malāna is currently studying at Westminster Choir College (Rider University) where she is working towards her Masters of Voice – Vocal Pedagogy for Musical Theatre. She also holds memberships with NATS and the Lehigh Valley Music Teachers Association where she is currently serving as the Grants Chairperson.

Malāna’s variety of experiences brought her to find great joy and love in teaching, and she is very excited for her second year with the Musik Makers. Having studied both classical and musical theatre styles, Malāna greatly supports cross-training and believes every singer should explore all aspects of their voice, never feeling confined to one style. She also strongly believes in vocal health, and values technique and the vocal safety of her students above all else.

Growing up in Texas, Malāna began studying harp at a very young age through the University of North Texas and began classical voice lessons shortly after. She pursued musical theatre in high school where she was nominated for Best Actress in the Dallas Summer Musical High School Musical Theatre Awards and the Betty Buckley Awards, in addition to winning numerous UIL One Act Play acting awards.

During her undergrad at Texas Tech University, Malāna performed in over ten productions, served as a student ambassador for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society. She studied harp privately and performed with the University harp ensemble in which she honed her musical skills in arranging, transposing, and transcribing musical theatre and pop music repertoire for the instrument. Malāna also competed with a select few classmates at the National Opera Association Musical Theatre Scenes Competition and placed 2nd and 1st in 2020 and 2021 respectively. During the last two years of her undergraduate, she was given the opportunity to serve as the assistant music/choral director for Guys and Dolls and A Chorus Line in addition to her roles as a performer. She finished out her senior year by placing 2nd in her region for musical theatre in NATS and performing her senior recital character study of Christine Daaé from Lloyd Webbers’ The Phantom of the Opera.

After graduating from Texas Tech in 2021, Malāna relocated to her home state of Pennsylvania and began to establish herself in the area as a performer and teacher, shadowing Ms. Rebecca. Recent shows include the Off-Broadway premiere of the new musical Here There Be Dragons (swing) and A Little Night Music at the Civic Theatre of Allentown (Anne Egerman).

When not teaching or performing, Malāna can be found spending time with her family, especially her nephew.
